Ingredient Spotlight: Hemp Seeds

Hulled hemp seeds may be one of Mother Earths’ tiniest gifts, but their size is no measure of their power. They are not only nutrient-dense and loaded with health benefits, but they help turn our dressings into the perfect pour. Its no wonder that hemp seeds are one of the star ingredients that you’ll find in our dressings.

Hemp seeds We set out to create dressings that are organic, vegan, free from allergens, artificial colors, fillers, and preservatives, gluten-free, soy-free, canola-free, and taste good! We’ll admit that this isn’t an easy feat. We work hard to find the perfect combination of plant-based ingredients that will satisfy your taste buds, while never compromising on quality. Hemp seeds rise to the challenge and contribute a mouth full.  

While you can typically find hemp seeds hiding in your smoothies or on top of your salads, we use them as our plant-based thickener, to help bring a creamy and velvety consistency to our dressings. We recognize that the texture of a dressing and how it coats and glistens on your veggies is important. After all, we do eat with our eyes. Hemp seeds help us check off all the boxes of what’s important in a salad dressing. Go ahead, indulge, and pour out a little more.

Hemp seeds are a powerful seed with many health benefits:  

  • They're a great source of plant-based protein and hold all the essential amino acids (building blocks of protein) that our bodies need. 
  • They contain healthy fats (omega 3 fatty acids and GLA found in omega 6 fatty acids) that are known for their heart health and anti-inflammatory properties. 
  • They contain fiber, which supports both healthy digestion and a happy gut! 
  • They're filled with vitamins and minerals, such as Vitamin E, magnesium, iron, zinc, to name a few, which all play an important role in our health and well-being.
